Alienicetea
Behind the name
Due to “ice tea” sounding remarkably similar to my actual name (Aiste), this cold beverage became my nickname as it was far easier to pronounce for the majority of people. Having spent most of my early adulthood living abroad carrying an “alien registration card,” it only made sense to sew that onto my nickname as the absolute vastness of undiscovered knowledge that the infinite outer space provides echoed with me quite deeply, thus ringing in the creation of my personal brand - “Alienicetea.”
backstory
Feeling a connection with the arts from an early age, I established my dream to become a “painter” all the way back in elementary school. Having spent the majority of my free time creating blog banners, forum signatures, and every other type of graphic imaginable while playing around with Photoshop, I eventually decided to pursue design. At the age of 19, I left my small hometown for Tokyo, a city 4.5 times the population of my home country, to study graphic design under MEXT - Japanese government-issued scholarship program.
Upon graduation in 2017, I decided to stay in Japan for a couple more years, gaining work experience in a wide variety of fields. Starting with concept-work, branding, graphic design all the way to art-direction, web design, front-end development and eventually a dash of supervision.
Fast forward to today, I am ready to trade my Japanese workplace trained diligence and efficiency for a chance at creative freedom; a chance to do work that matters, work that I could be full-heartedly proud of.
